Reflecting on International Women’s Day at the Powerhouse Event

Following International Women’s Day, the team at Forus-P is reflecting on an inspiring week that celebrated the achievements, leadership and resilience of women in business.

Last Friday, our Co-CEO Eveline van Manen attended the Powerhouse: Building Your Own Path event at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel in Carlow. The event formed part of Local Enterprise Week, bringing together women from across the South East business community to connect, share experiences and support one another.

The morning provided a fantastic opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with entrepreneurs, business leaders and professionals who are all navigating the challenges and rewards of building and growing businesses. Events like this highlight the power of community and collaboration in supporting innovation and growth across the region.

One of the highlights of the event was a keynote talk by Emma Maye, who shared her journey to becoming CEO of two companies. Her story offered valuable insights into leadership, perseverance and the lessons learned along the way. The panel discussions were equally engaging, with local businesswomen and industry experts speaking openly about their experiences, challenges and successes in business.

At Forus-P, we are fortunate to work alongside strong, talented women every day. Their expertise, drive and support play a vital role in shaping our organisation and pushing our business forward. Seeing the same spirit of collaboration and encouragement at the Powerhouse event was a powerful reminder of how important these connections are.

We would like to thank Carlow County Council for organising such a fantastic event and creating a space where women in business can come together to learn, share and inspire one another.

As we reflect on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of women everywhere, not just for one day, but every day.
